Last weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International ( WPPI ) 30th convention held at Las Vegas MGM Grand Hotel. Raphael Maglonzo, a fashion photographer from Los Angeles, met up with Ermelinda Manos a fashion designer from Las Vegas, and organized a fashion shoot for me and my colleagues. Ermelinda brought some of her fashion collections along with her gorgeous model Jessica White. They were so accommodating and nice. I can’t forget Ermelinda’s mother who had the most important role that day…She brought us “CHEESEBURGERS!” Yay! We started shooting at 2:00 pm and had to finish at 6:00 pm. because the rain started to pour.
My other colleagues offered me to borrow their lenses Nikon 24-70mm 2.8, Nikon 70-200mm 2.8, Nikon 85mm 1.4, Canon 85mm 1.2, Canon 135mm 2.0, and Canon 70-200mm 2.8. As tempting that can be with all those choices, this time I wanted to challenge myself to shoot with just a kit lens, Nikon 18- 200 mm 5.6. Call me crazy but I did it!
I really enjoyed shooting with 8 professional photographers. Learning the various ways they shoot and light their subject was an experiene of a lifetime. Thank you to the following people that made this photoshoot a success: Ermelinda Manos, Jessica White, Ben Young 3 from Davao Philippines a Premier Wedding Photographer, Raphael Maglonzo , AC Cubos and Geoff Sam Los Angeles Fashion / Run Way Photographers, Joel Llacar ( Los Angeles Wedding Photographer ), Alex Lajom ( Utah Wedding Photographer ), Ruben Gonzalez ( Elk Grove Portrait Photographer ) and Michelle Rivera ( Chicago Wedding Photographer )…the only lady photographer in the group from Chicago. It was fun meeting up with you all this year. I hope we could do this again next year.
Here are some of my pictures of Jessica. Enjoy!

Excellent shots as always Mr. Palima! It only proved that it is not the tool but the artist. You have again proven that saying by producing yet another set of outstanding images. I too have enjoyed the camaraderie amongst professionals that evening. We didn’t want to end but nature has a way of saying we had enough and save the rest for later.
Indeed, we should all meet again soon.
You are an artist Cesar Palima.
Sincerely,
Raphael Maglonzo
